For months, David and his family have wished for a silent night; one free of painful bedbug bites, insomnia and constant worry. They live on the north side of Spokane, Wa.
"I don't know how we got them, " said David.
The family first noticed bedbugs in their home shortly after they brought their four-month-old son home from the hospital.
"I don't know how to describe it. It's stressful. We're not sleeping, we don't want to sit on the furniture. It's a mess," David added.
In an effort to combat the agressive pest, David threw away furniture, beds and other personal belongings. When that didn't curb the problem, they called Prime Pest Control for an estimate. But, with David being unemployed, awaiting back surgery, and relying soley on his wife's income they knew it would be difficult to come up with the extra cash to pay for the heat and chemical treatment. Even so, they started saving by cutting back on bills and Christmas presents for their two kids. When the owner of Prime Pest Control heard about their story, he knew he needed to help and donated their services free of charge. Prime Pest Control supports the charity "Taking A Bite Out of The Holidays".
"As a locally owned business, we care about our community and helping people live a pest-free life," said Paul Nibarger, owner of Prime Pest Control. "We wish David and his family a Merry Christmas," He added. The heat and chemical treatment will be done on December 23, 2014, just in time for Christmas!
David said the generous donation is the best Christmas gift they could've recieved this year.
"Pure joy," he said. "When I told my wife she started crying a little . . . now we can enjoy living in our house again. We thank you!"
